Please remember that name badges are required for entry to all sessions, breaks, vendor area, and banquet. OEMS CE will only be awarded by scanning name badges.
Cancellation Policy:
Transfers/Refunds/Cancellations
If you cannot attend the Pre-Conference or Symposium, you may transfer your registration to another attendee, transfer to the next scheduled conference or request a refund based upon the following conditions.
Membership fees will not be refunded.
Transfers to the next scheduled conference: No Penalty Fee; only one Transfer permitted.
Transfers substituting another attendee must be made prior to conference; transfer on site will result in a 10% of registration cost penalty fee.
Requests to transfer payment to the next scheduled conference must be sent in writing via e-mail to the conference registrar (jbrines@ncaemsa.org) by the first day of the conference. Telephone requests will not be honored.
Refunds for cancellations received 30 days prior to the first day of a conference will receive a full refund.
Refunds for cancellations less than 30 days, but more than 10 days prior the conference will receive a 50% refund.
There will be no refunds for cancellations 10 days or less prior to a conference.
All transfers/refunds/cancellations must be done online by the dates specified.
NCAEMSA is not responsible for problems beyond our control such as weather conditions, prepaid parking, prepaid tours, etc. No refunds will be given in these situations.
The final decision on transfers/refunds/cancellations rests with the NCAEMSA Executive Board.

It is highly recommended for anyone overseeing aspects of an OEMS Education Institution. This workshop is set to be an annual requirement for OEMS Educational Institution Program Coordinators. Developed by former OEMS Institution Program Coordinators and current NCOEMS Staff, the Program Coordinators will discuss and review their roles/responsibilities, current issues or needs in EMS Education, information relevant to their position, realistic expectations of being an EMS Program Coordinator and understand challenges OEMS addresses daily regarding EMS education in North Carolina.

Course Description: This structured classroom approach prepares EMS personnel for handling substance abuse incidents more effectively by equipping them with essential knowledge.
Educational Content: The initial session primarily involves instructor-led presentations to develop knowledge rather than hands-on skills. Topics Covered: Participants will learn to recognize and articulate signs of drug impairment. The training will focus on understanding and describing the effects of drugs, moving beyond the specific mechanics of tests to a broader understanding of impairment. Learning Outcomes: Recognizing Impairment: Attendees will become proficient in identifying and articulating behavioral and physical signs of impairment caused by substances other than or in addition to alcohol. Behavioral Recognition: The course will provide EMS personnel with the necessary knowledge to recognize the general effects of drug use in emergencies.
Certification: Participants who complete the training will receive a certificate of attendance acknowledging their presence and participation in the educational sessions.
